RPG Maker Chronicles – Hello, Charlotte
My world met its end a long time ago. Humanity as I knew it ceased to exist and disappeared without a trace. The gods they believed in died and churches were built as their tombs. Chaos turned into order, and in the end became silence. All I can do is dream because I’m very, very tired. Before I throw away the words that create noise in my head, would you be so kind as to join me in my dreams??
● RPG Maker – one of the popular engines that enjoys special love among people because it does not require the user to know a programming language, being more of a constructor. The name alone speaks for itself and allows you to understand what genre the engine’s games belong to.
However, a funny fact is that a designer that literally screams what genre it was created for is most often remembered for those games that are least associated with RPGs, and sometimes not at all.
And in this section I talk about all the finds that have appeared during the existence of the engine. Below you can see links to my other blogs from the same section and they will be arranged in chronological order of game releases.
In addition, you can check out the selection of games, which I include everything that was created on RPG Maker. If you wish, you can also write what I missed and you can add more.
(!) IMPORTANT: The blog may cover topics of depression, mental disorders and other unpleasant things. Moreover, in some moments there may be not the most appetizing pictures, which will cause disgust in some people. If all this makes you uncomfortable, I recommend avoiding the blog. I invite the rest to move on.
Greetings dear reader! I’m glad to see you again, because I have something to tell you! Continuing the “RPG Maker Chronicles” section, today I decided to tell you about one funny game that you might have heard about if you were looking for some atmospheric 2D games on the engine. If you haven’t heard, don’t rush to close the blog tab, because I will try to bring you up to date. True, we obviously cannot do without some kind of seed.
At a minimum, why is “Charlotte” so unique and what is it about?? But, in fact, speaking about all parts of Charlotte, I would like to immediately express the idea that they are all extremely different, but at the same time very similar in their basic essence, namely: some kind of story in an abstract and strange world, in which, through some metaphors and allegories, they are trying to tell a rather dramatic story, simultaneously exposing a variety of vices of society. At least, this is the opinion that a person might have when first looking at the game.
Hello Charlotte is an episodic game where each episode can be considered a separate story. The storytelling style, illustrations and themes change, but the characters remain the same.
They don’t exaggerate at all about the difference between the games, and the atmosphere really changes from game to game, and this applies not only to the visuals, but also to the plot, message, EVERYTHING. And there’s even some plot justification for this. But to understand what exactly I mean, you have to dive a little deeper into these games, which is what I’m getting at. Believe me, it will be interesting, because all these games are quite personal, and here we are again coming across a project that draws a lot from the life of the author himself.
Without further ado, let’s get started.
● As I am used to starting my stories about games, I would like to first of all talk about their author, but, unfortunately, not in too much detail. Etherane – developer who lives in Estonia. Loves tea, uses SAI, has a passion for horror films. Asexual pianist, game maker, graphic design student, and former medical student. Although her main language is Russian, she is proud of her knowledge of English and Estonian. All this is basic information that the developer herself does not hide. However, perhaps this time I won’t dig deeper into a person than necessary, because I clearly read in her posts that personal space should be respected. Instead, let’s talk about her games that are about Charlotte.
Charlotte – a small, completely ordinary white-haired girl with a yellow ribbon who lives in a rather large and strange house, with completely white walls and rooms that can melt your eyes if you play at night. Nevertheless, she does not live here alone, but also not with her parents, about whom little is known.
Her roommates are:
Aiden – acts as a servant. He is also a Krampus, who at some point ended up in Charlotte’s house, and after being hit on the head, he stayed here. Loves making stuffed animals.
Bennett and Huxley – refugees from another planet. At the first, they tested various kinds of cosmetic preparations, which is why he still has a strange defect on his face left by the disease, but Huxley, being a doctor, deceived Bennett and then escaped. Both used Charlotte’s house just to hang out, but ended up staying. Haxie actually set up his own clinic in the house where a bunch of his dummies work. Often wears a gas mask.
Felix – Huxley’s little nephew, whom you will be asked to look after. You will go through most of the game with him.
Also, Charlotte is often visited by a strange guest in dark clothes, whom she nicknamed with a rather strange name – umbrella man.
From the very beginning, all creatures are divided into different races.
Charlotte – a puppet, like all ordinary people. The main task of puppets is to make mistakes. At the same time, you are the puppeteer. The game breaks the 4th wall, trying to involve the player in the story, giving the puppeteer a name – Seth. Puppeteers are able to rewind time if the puppet dies and this is how the game justifies the transition to saving.
Besides this there is aliens (or others) – This is the name given to the residents of Charlotte’s house, like Haxie and Bennett. They are not averse to eating soap (in Charlotte’s world, soap is a kind of drug for aliens. Almost every Huxley employee suffers from one or another demon of the past and soap allows them to forget about it, it clouds their mind and allows them to be much more productive. But it also causes withdrawal)!
Omnicubes – these are objects that when you click on them you get this or that information. Befitting the name, these objects look like a cube.
But there are several more races that are worth talking about separately.
For example, the observer, aka the umbrella man, as very little Charlotte called him when they first met. Oddly enough, his job is to observe. When meeting Charlotte, he often takes control of her father’s body.
And finally – Pythia. But we will touch on them a little later.
The main plot is based on the fact that Huxley asks us to keep an eye on his nephew, but at some point everything goes wrong: Felix escapes, moving through other worlds, and we, trying to find him, are now forced to go through a rather strange and dangerous adventure.
As part of the https://mr-jones-casino.org/mobile-app/ chronicle section, we have already analyzed in detail “Yume Nikki” with its psychedelic worlds, abstract elements and other madness. Charlotte, however, can also boast of this. Every now and then you will move around rather unusual locations and worlds, which you will enter through large TVs. There are quite a lot of TVs in the game. And if the big ones really are a kind of portal to other drug addict places, then the small ones that hang on the walls act as a guide that will give you grains of lore.
But no, it’s not the TVs that are so scary here. As you might already understand, white walls and rooms are not the peak of psychedelic game design. In some locations you can literally see strange piles of meat; almost at the very beginning of the game you will meet a strange mixture of a larva and a cat; a room with a bunch of pomegranates that break when touched and have eyeballs instead of seeds; literally hostile pieces of steak and more.
However, if in “Yume Nikki” it was all written off as a dream and allowed the player to figure out the meaning of everything that was happening, then here there is a completely clear plot that is revealed through meaningful dialogues and does not force you to play charades. Only those grains of lore from TV that beckon you to put together the whole picture add fuel to the fire. And I don’t know about you, but I always want to look at all the forks, poke into every thing, examine everything and everyone. And it would seem that in Charlotte it should be interesting to study this strange world. But no matter how it is..
The prospect of wandering around another creepy and unusual place, learning something new along the way, is very tasty, but it stumbles over the game itself. In terms of gameplay, playing the first episode of Charlotte is very… Hard. Sometimes, when you walk forward, you get the feeling that everything in its path wants to kill you, and therefore studying locations sometimes becomes unbearable. At the very beginning you can find a box, after opening which the world will be destroyed, including you. Since this is just the beginning, this move is funny and even makes fun of the typical gaming ritual of trying to rummage around for loot. This is an absurd but funny death. But when you die again because you clicked somewhere in the wrong place, went the wrong way, or answered something wrong, or something unexpected happened that you couldn’t even imagine in theory, it starts to irritate.
Well it can’t get any worse. And then bam-bang-bang
You are given a strange abstract world, but you are not allowed to roam around it, and excessive curiosity is punished. You never know which door will kill you, at what moment the puzzle will turn out to be fatal, and they don’t give you any hints. Well, at least you can save at any time, but personally this game managed to turn me into paranoid, which is why I saved every 5 minutes, or maybe 2.
Even though you won’t be able to really study the world, you can still follow the plot with interest, because I already said that it is more understandable here than in the conventional “Yume Nikki”. According to the plot, Charlotte still finds Felix, but on the way back he manages to die from another puzzle. Afterwards, a strange dark-haired character with 4 eyes comes onto the stage and offers help, and then, perhaps, it’s time to talk about the Pythians, that race, which I left explanations for later.
Pythia – strange creatures that are divided into Freys and Freys. The first are male Pythia, the second are female. Men have 4 eyes, women have 3. They are described as something omnipotent that is capable of creating their own worlds. However, when the characters enter one of the worlds, they find many dead bodies of Pythias. They all look the same because each person sees them differently. It would seem, who is capable of killing such powerful creatures?? But there are creatures even more powerful.
For example, Oracle – a deity who appears once every thousand years, who is capable of creating other worlds, dimensions, and it was they who, if you believe other people’s words, created the television world. And Felix ran away just to study the Oracle and dig up as much information as possible. The Pythia and the Oracle lived hand in hand and prospered, but this also caused disagreements that forced them to quarrel. Executioners appeared, organizing a hunt for God and killing their own race. Some of the Pythias tried to connect their minds through the Oracle in order to become one. But something went wrong, once again. They achieved their goal, but the result was not at all what they expected. Instead of uniting into something single, their minds became open and any shameful thought was exposed to others. Soon it became completely impossible to distinguish your thoughts from those of others, because they, one might say, had one mind in a hundred thousand.
Our own children took a knife to us. We used to have thousands of arms, but they cut them all off and now we’re powerless. We used to watch the world with our billion eyes, but they gouged out every one of them and now we are blind. We used to pass through obstacles and boundaries, through worlds that we created, but we can no longer take a single step, since our legs have been taken away. Our creations, which we loved dearly regardless of their actions, destroyed themselves, and now we are alone. But we have forgiven them for this sin. And we forgive you.
Oracle
One way or another, as a result of all this, the Oracle slowly died, and his world died with him. But still, with Charlotte’s consent, he moved into her body, after which, along with the death of the world, they all returned to their home.
It would seem that this is really quite a clear and interesting story. However, this does not negate the fact that as a result the player still has quite a lot of questions, and it is the ending of the first episode that does not allow one to determine the authenticity of everything that is happening. And here’s the thing..
At the end of the game, Charlotte tells about all her adventures to the umbrella man, after which he says that it’s time for her to take her pills and go to bed, which the girl does. But as soon as you take the pills, the environment around you suddenly changes. Everything will suddenly become normal! The completely white corridors and rooms will begin to take on colors, you will not see Bennett, Aiden, or Huxley anywhere else, and when you enter the room, Charlotte will turn to Felix, who… Who is now a stuffed rabbit! And this is where the game ends.
The first theories come to mind, but they are also the most banal, from the category “Charlotte is a psychopath”, “Everything that is happening is a dog’s dream”, “Charlotte is in a COMA”. ", "Each version of Charlotte is personalized" and the list goes on. In fact, the first episode of the game turned out, it seems to me, as necessary for understanding as it is unnecessary for playing. It sounds quite contradictory, doesn’t it?? I’ll explain now.
The first episode plays a rather important role – it immerses you in the world and makes you understand what it is all about. Subsequent games will take place in the same or very similar setting. It also partially introduces characters who will also appear in subsequent games and are also important to know. In other words, it gives you some basis for understanding the rest of the carnival. But the gaming experience can be quite painful, for the reasons already mentioned above. Therefore, I can advise you to get acquainted with the game through walkthroughs, or… Damn it, I already introduced you to it! What a great guy I am. Hmm..
In terms of the narrative, the first episode is extremely light and ends very casually, with the main character falling asleep. And, spoiler alert, this atmosphere doesn’t even come close to what will happen next, but nevertheless, it well emphasizes my words that the games are completely different. However, we need to compare with something, don’t we?? Well… In this case, let’s not relax and move on.
● The second episode of Charlotte immediately catches your eye due to its slightly different style, making it clear that the author did not waste time and developed, and the actions in the story take place 3 years after the Oracle moved into Charlotte. And if earlier the main task was to travel through the worlds, now we are invited to plunge into the everyday life of the heroine. Throughout the game you will wake up in your room, go through certain events and fall asleep, but even during sleep interesting events may slip through. Throughout this time, after the first episode, the Oracle inside Charlotte slept and gained strength, after which it finally awakened, appearing to Charlotte in her dreams and talking to her about something.
However, according to the umbrella, this is still a dead god who is not capable of anything and now rather serves as an anchor for Charlotte, not allowing her to live normally. And, oddly enough, you have no doubt about these words, because literally every morning Charlotte does not start with the typical ritual of drinking tea or washing her face, no, every morning she coughs up blood and feels unwell. However, Charlotte does not talk about her problems, justifying this by the fact that she does not want to disturb anyone.
The characters, in turn, don’t really notice all these problems, and in general they haven’t really changed, with the possible exception of Felix. He seemed to become more indifferent and grouchy when Charlotte appeared, and the reason for this is that 3 years ago, when moving from the television world and merging Charlotte with the Oracle, the girl’s body was literally dismantled for meat, which seriously frightened him, making him wonder: “Is this Charlotte the same?”?»
The umbrella man has also undergone changes, although it would be more correct to say that they just finally began to open him. True, we see him every time in different bodies. If earlier he used the body of Charlotte’s father as a vessel, now he does not hesitate to take the body of a child, a nurse, and even Felix in order to mock the heroine. At the same time, a body captured by someone always has one remarkable attribute – yellow eyes.
New characters also appear in the person of Henri, Charlotte’s best friend, with whom she goes to the same school, where… Everything looks just as strange and wrong as in the location of the last game. At a minimum, all students, except the main characters, have a dark hole instead of a face. And the school location is always accompanied by rather strange events, for example, sometimes you enter into battles in which, like in some undertale, you can talk to the attacking students, whose appearance is often even more distorted – and it’s not even a matter of face.
This is called the socialization process and is one of those things that will be discussed throughout the game. Charlotte’s school literally has a court ritual. Each person has a soul cube, which contains all the data about the person. However, if he cannot socialize, if he is somehow different and is, one might say, a sticking out nail, he is immediately picked out, and the cube of the soul is rewritten. The school has a system of social points, where everyone receives them for certain actions. At the trial, the students give each other their votes and the one who does not have a single vote is taken away to rewrite the cube.
As for the RPG elements, a completely useless cliched battle system designed to annoy you is also present, so that you would rather spend all your time at home and never go to the school playground if you get the chance.
© Etherane
After rewriting the soul cube, a person literally loses his personality and consciousness. He cannot adapt to life, so he ends up becoming a useless member of society, whose body is thrown into a pit with the same bunch of people. The school itself considers this to be salvation, they say they help poor children whose soul cubes were “broken”, considering them defective and..
For some reason, I’m sure that some part of you grimaced with displeasure. I didn’t lie when I said that the second episode radically changes the atmosphere and talks about completely different problems. I can understand why many people don’t like stories with characters who are “not like everyone else.” I would even say that people are annoyed not by the very fact of people’s individuality (it would be strange if someone really didn’t like this), but by the fact that many people are fed up with people talking about this everywhere. Hundreds of stories about how “different” rebels fight against society have become a meme, especially if they come from teenagers, but… Don’t rush to conclusions.
It all really sounds like the beginning of such a story, but in fact, Charlotte, for obvious reasons, cannot be called a rebel, and even me, a person who also does not like such stories, was able to get offended by the second episode. Oddly enough, the game is able to attract an introvert and it does not look like a daring rebellion towards society. Again, we remember that the game conveyed the author’s feelings and emotions about certain things and… Personally, I see this as an attempt to speak out. I involuntarily remember one indie developer – Rem Michalski, about whom I already wrote as part of the personal history section. And there I said that his first games were a way to throw out all the bad things that had accumulated in his life, to speak out and, perhaps, thereby overcome these negative emotions in himself. And I feel the same way about Charlotte.
Moreover, the problem of society is not the only problem that arises in the game. At the same time, the topic of mental disorders and mental state is raised. Charlotte refused to take the pills she was taking at the end of the first episode, and at one point she develops bleeding wounds on her hands. And Dr. Huxley explains this not by the fact that she could have been hurt somehow, no, he justifies this by mental wounds. In moments of stress and negative emotions, they appear on the hands, but soon they pass, making the psyche stronger.
It’s difficult to come up with a more straightforward metaphor, AND STILL, what caused Charlotte to feel so bad?? Well, that is, yes, she walks around with a dead god inside, locations can kill you every now and then and in general take on the most psychedelic and strange forms, but for the heroine this is all sort of considered the norm. Moreover, once again reinforcing my words that everything is not so simple, Charlotte is not even a rebel for freedom, who suffers from persecution for her otherness. Just the opposite, all her classmates REALLY love her, want to be like her, want to be friends with her and elevate her in every possible way! Okay, stop… And here’s a little more detail..
Almost at the very beginning of the game, Charlotte sees a bunch of hooligans beating up a white-haired boy – C. Fortunately, Charlotte, having pepper spray with her, was able to drive them away and run away with the victim to school. The boy soon turns out to be a new student in Charlotte’s class, who seems to be the god of this world, causing a lot of ridicule and bullying in his direction. However, Xi, it seems, does not interfere much with this and has only one goal – to carry out Roskomnadzor on himself, because then, according to him, his divine essence should be freed from a weak and strange human body, but for some reason, he simply cannot harm himself, the power of the self-preservation instinct is too great.
One way or another, time passes, and you gradually believe less and less in Charlotte’s assurances that everyone loves her. For example, at one point she is locked in the toilet. Who? Unknown. Then, when she left the classroom for a couple of minutes, someone stole her backpack and scattered all her textbooks across the school park. And when she decides to feed the homeless larval cats, she finds them dead the next day. But, perhaps, the peak is the situation when the hooligans, whom Charlotte dispersed at the beginning, decided to take revenge on her by luring her onto the roof and cutting off almost all of her hair with scissors.
But suddenly C appears, who invites her to run away with him and, unable to bear everything that is happening, Charlotte agrees. But reaching a certain point, Xi proposes to do something strange. He hands Charlotte a pack of pills, inviting her to leave this world with him. And you may well refuse, having received one of the endings, but otherwise… Charlotte begs Xi not to do anything to himself. Teachers from school quickly find them and take them away before they have time to commit suicide.
Xi puts all the blame on himself to protect Charlotte, but for this he is deprived of all social points, and the trial is about to begin very soon. Charlotte manages to talk to her friend, Henri, who asks her to vote for her in court and then she will do the same. However, the dilemma is that then she will lose the opportunity to help Xi, because if he has at least one vote, then his soul cube will not be touched. Xi himself said that Charlotte should under no circumstances vote for him. And with all this chaos you have to sleep. And Charlotte’s awakening demonstrates just how much her brain is turning to mush under all that pressure. The music is cheerful, but extremely annoying, when you click on an object, they give out extremely strange descriptions, and over time the room is filled with other characters and their duplicates who greet Charlotte.
When the hour of judgment comes, you are given the final choice. Either you go against everyone’s request by voting for SI and saving him, or you vote for Anri as she asked, or you don’t vote at all. If you save C, Henri will be angry with Charlotte, admitting that she was responsible for the fact that she was locked in the toilet and all her things were scattered, calling Charlotte a deranged psychopath who believes in her own delusions about aliens and the oracle. And she completely refuses to give her voice to Charlotte. Ultimately, it becomes obvious that no one really liked Charlotte and therefore no one voted for her. Charlotte is forced to go into a room where her soul will be erased. This is one of the endings where she dies saying goodbye to the oracle. An ending where everyone is happy… Except Charlotte..
If you vote for Anri, she will also give her vote to you and Xi will be sent to a room where his soul will be erased. But in the end, Charlotte still runs after him to help, while also arguing with Henri. But when she walks into the room, it’s too late. C’s soul is rewritten as Charlotte, filled with emotions ranging from grief to anger, awakens the powers of the Oracle. In sadness, she begins to eat absolutely the entire world around her, believing that such a cruel place is not worthy of existence.
So she absorbed every creature, every thing, every location, until there was nothing left and she herself became the world… Except for the umbrella man who came to Charlotte. He made it clear that the world she absorbed is far from the only one and in fact there are many more of them. But this time he didn’t come to make fun of. He reveals that he has a copy of Xi’s Soul Cube and gives it to the new goddess of this world. After everything that happened, Charlotte frees his soul, asking the umbrella man to keep an eye on other Charlottes in other worlds, in return losing her name, and she herself wants only one thing – to finally rest and fall into a long hibernation..
And finally, if you didn’t choose anyone at all, then in the end, Anri still won’t vote for you, as a result of which you and C will both be sent to the soul rewriting room. However, there, after the last conversation with the Oracle, the heroine, as in the first ending, suddenly acquires his powers, again becoming a deity. Charlotte wanted everyone to be happy and with the power she had, she could do it. But when she left the room, all she saw were people. Empty people. Happiness for all people is impossible purely physically and the only way to do this is to control them.
Control their feelings, emotions, mind. I already talked about how the Pythia, with the help of the oracle, tried to become a single mind, but in the end this only caused problems, because their emotions remained with them. Here Charlotte did what the Oracle could not do before, now every living creature was a part of her, and they were a part of Charlotte. This option, obviously, does not suit her, and with the loud echo of a thousand voices in her head, she breaks down and asks why it all happened this way, because she wanted only one thing – happiness for everyone.
This is a story about the impossibility of universal happiness and the deification of those who are beyond our reach. Once her mind collapses, ink will flow and blood red flowers will bloom on the deserted field.
And now, Charlotte’s last wish is to be killed by the umbrella man, who came to her again and, being a higher being, was the only one who was not influenced by the power of the Oracle. However, he refused to comply with the request, instead reassuring Charlotte and offering a different perspective. This perspective was one of gradual learning, of using one’s abilities to build a new world. That’s all… We have 3 endings, or 4, if we take into account Charlotte’s Roskomnadzor act, but… Which one is canonical?? It’s hard to say, but I would answer that they are all canonical and at the same time non-canonical at all.
And here’s the thing… After the ending, an umbrella man appears on the screen and breaks the 4th wall, addressing the player to offer one deal. He suggests that the player may not be too happy with these endings, but says there is another option. The umbrella may give you the opportunity to save Charlotte, but in return it will eat your name. Charlotte, who considered you, the puppeteer, to be her friend, won’t even remember you, that’s the price. And if you agree, then from now on you are called anonymous, while the Umbrella says that you will see each other a little later, after which the events of the third episode begin.
Charlotte is happy with her ending. They are all called "true" and "good". I would say that EP2 is postmodernism for the surrealism of EP1. Art is dead in EP2.

● It would seem that next you should be given a continuation of the previous story, and thoughts already arise in your head: “How can the plot develop further??“If this is really going to be a continuation, then there should probably be many explanations of how it all turned out this way and what the world around the heroine now looks like. However, you start with the already quite familiar scene of Charlotte waking up in her room and… What? How? Why? Everything should be completely different: the world is either erased, or Charlotte should learn somewhere to control her Oracle powers, but instead, she stands as if nothing had happened and as if all those events never happened. Something strange is felt, but it is not yet entirely clear what exactly..
Soon, when Charlotte leaves the house and heads to school, which was in the second part, you see hooligans on the road beating up some white-haired boy. Already taught by experience, we know what needs to be done – to help somehow. Throw something in the eyes, hit him on the head, throw a stone. But when looking at this situation, Charlotte simply says something along the lines of “Oh, someone is being beaten. Sobsvena, what do I care?? That’s right, I need to take a selfie!", and then leaves the location with a smile and cheerful music. And then it finally dawns on you what exactly is wrong here. Charlotte has changed a lot, as if she had become different, and at the same time her surroundings have changed. In the second part, Felix treated Charlotte rather coldly, but here he seems to be afraid of her, running away from her like a frightened domestic animal that has seen its tormentor.
If you go into Aiden’s room, you will see a monster standing at the table surrounded by strange mannequins, whose body parts suspiciously resemble human ones. Aiden has always been fond of making stuffed animals, but now his hobby is presented as something bloody and scary.
It becomes obvious that this is not a continuation of the second episode, but some kind of alternative universe. However, the Umbrella himself said that there are actually very, very many worlds. And specifically in this world, Charlotte became much more evil and cruel, bringing her surroundings to hatred and fear of herself.
Understanding the hatred of your roommates is, in general, not so difficult. You can completely surrender to your role and play the evil bitch. For example, when you hear that Bennett really wants to watch a TV series after work, you can break the TVs. In addition, while Felix is not in his office, you can delete all his important files.
Charlotte is not only the local bully, but her social circle matches her and consists of the same toxic people. The school has a whole club where students watch a special show. People vote for a student, after which he is caught and executed at the hour of trial in rather perverted ways. Moreover, the most ridiculous reasons are invented for this. For example, one guy was arrested because he wrote on the Internet that he still sleeps with a teddy bear and this VERY offended people who hate teddy bears! Well, I think it’s pointless to give any analogies and parallels with life, you already understand everything. And everything would be fine, but the appearance of this club is entirely the merit of Charlotte and she is also the main executioner.
However, the local head girl, Scarlett Euler, tried to stop this attitude. Red-haired student. The character, in fact, is far from new and she flashed back in the second episode, I just didn’t mention her because she only appeared for a couple of seconds and only for the sake of jumping from the roof. But now I want you to remember this character because her role is quite important. In general, Scarlet is always for justice and for Charlotte to stop doing goddamn things, spreading this senseless cruelty.
Now Charlotte, instead of being humiliated by others, humiliates everyone herself. For some reason, she knows perfectly well what her destiny SHOULD be, but at some point she simply decided that she was not obliged to obey these usual canons. Such Charlottes are called defective. It’s scary to imagine who and how has changed in this world. For example, what about that blond boy Vincent who was beaten at the beginning? Well… He also plays an important role. Or rather, not really him. Vincent’s body is literally used simply as a vessel, and the person inside is introduced as Charles. And to be honest, until recently I thought it was the Umbrella Man, because, firstly, only he has the ability to inhabit other people’s bodies, and secondly, he wears a dark suit, like our already familiar comrade. And I even perceived his name as a simple pseudonym. However, soon everything will look extremely controversial..
The game introduced a drug called "Svyazin" with quite harmful properties, but which, nevertheless, allows two different people to link their minds, according to advertising. And he will appear in the game quite often, mainly serving as a tool through which the player will be slightly revealed the veil of secrets and given more plot details.
